Pre-Departure Workshop
Hello! We are Rachel and Briallen and we are running the FGCU Adventure
Abroad 2019 blog for today and tomorrow!

Today, we all went to the Pre-Departure Workshop at FGCU to do some final
prepping before we leave for New York tomorrow! We started out by getting
our numbers for when we count off to make sure everyone is present (Rachel is 11
and Briallen is 12 because we’re always together). After some brief exercises
because we had a latecomer, we began our show and tell of our bags with a partner
and telling the class some of the things we are bringing. We talked about items we
need to bring and items we don’t need to bring, and we learned how to wear our
bags the right way.

Then, we talked about our itinerary for the trip, getting excited about all of the
activities we get to do. After that, every partner group alternated presenting their
informational travel blog (ours was on Delphi and some of the places we are
going to visit there) as well as language tutorials (Rachel was Italian and Briallen
had Greek). The Croatian group actually made up a song to teach the
language- which was awesome- and had us all singing “Je ne govorim hrvatski”
by the end of the day.

Before heading out for the day, we took the first group photo of the trip by setting
the camera up on the table with a timer for the photo.
